TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (MNA) – Iran’s exports from the South Pars natural gas field increased by 55 percent in the first six months of the Iranian calendar year (ended September 23), an Iranian official said on Sunday.

The managing director of Special Pars Economic Energy Zone Mehdi Yousefi said over 1.966 million tons of commodities, worth $1.76 billion, have been exported to 29 countries.

Exported goods through customs in Special Economic Energy Zone in September this year includes 913,814 tons of gas condensate and 1,052,647 tons of non-oil commodities, he said.

South Pars gas field is estimated to contain a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about eight percent of the world’s reserves, and approximately 18 billion barrels of condensates.
