The Power Of This Film Is That You Don't See The Point Coming

I just watched this powerful new video from an organization I'd rather not name just yet.

In fact, I'm not going to say anything about it until you've had a chance to watch it first. Anything I say will ruin it.

Here you go:

Did you see it coming?

The power of this incredible film is that we don't see it coming. We're glowing in our satisfaction at the end with our red-headed hero finally finding the girl he'd been corresponding with via desk-writing and...boom.

I did not see it coming. Not at all.

And that's the point, right? This film could have lectured kids about how important it is to keep a watchful eye at school, to look for the signs, and the proverbial "if you see something, say something." But this film does one better. Way better.

It demonstrates to us how easy it is to miss the signs. We are focused on a film with limited things going on within the 16X9 space and we still missed it. We get caught in the very trap the film is warning us to avoid.

As a result, we get it. We really and profoundly get it.

I write about the importance of creativity in modern branding.
